Massage Therapy
What is it?
Massage therapy originates back thousands of years ago in ancient China and Egypt. Modern approaches to massage therapy can only be administrated by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Massage therapy aids in promoting relaxation, healing
and joint/muscle enhancement through touch/manipulation techniques.
How is it administered?
Massage therapy uses a hands-on technique to manipulate soft-tissues in order to
treat patients. Often times, it requires the use of oils and lotions for a session lasting
anywhere from 30-50mins.
How does it help?
Through the hands-on technique, massage therapy is able to be beneficial as it:
- Improves blood circulation
- Allows muscular relaxation
- Aids in headaches and back pains
- Reduces localized pain
- Enhance immune function
- Accelerates soft-tissue and/or strain injuries
